Internship within Discovery Chemistry: Separation Technology
Discovery Chemistry is a central, innovative science in Drug Discovery Research. Our expert team of medicinal & computational chemists and research technicians focuses on the creation of small molecules as potential new medicines towards the improvement of patients' lives. The internship opportunities in this department provide excellent training in research and exposure to science in a pharmaceutical setting. It offers students the chance for a hands-on work experience and general introduction into discovery pharmaceutical research. We support talented scientist students to conduct innovative research within our research laboratories in the Basel Headquarters. The internships are designed to be a bridge between academia and industry, thereby supporting flexibility in the student's future career plans. Key Responsibilities and Tasks
Analytical and preparative separation of enantiomers and/or diastereomers on chiral HPLC columns
* Support in open access labs on reverse phase LC/MS * Maintenance and small repairs of HPLC machines

Only chemistry students in the last year of their study as well Bachelors before finishing their Masters are eligible to apply for the internship. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and are available on a 3-6 month basis.We are looking for a motivated candidate who has good analytical skills and enthusiasm for organic chemistry and pharmaceutical research. You are able to work in a team, and you are stimulated by a competitive environment. You have knowledge in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel and PowerPoint. Fluency in English or German (spoken and written) is essential.
